Used by professional makeup and special-effects artists worldwide! Our FX Fangs are fake teeth 'veneer' style products that cover only the front of your teeth. They are made from high quality dental acrylic and designed to be ultra-realistic. They use a thermoplastic which softens in hot water to anchor our fake teeth products in your mouth. The initial fitting process takes around 20 minutes and only needs to be completed once to obtain a fit that will last for months. A: These Dental Distortions products are made using the highest quality dental acrylic and bio-compatible plastics available. The teeth are made from acrylic and the backing is made of a low melt plastic that molds to your own teeth. Q: How long does it take to get my Dental Distortions fake teeth in the mail? Q: What can I use to fix the teeth into position with ease? A: We recommend Fixodent denture adhesive! You can use either fitting plastic(supplied) or a denture adhesive (like Fixodent) to apply your teeth. Myself and other makeup artists recently used fixodent to secure some teeth in the film 'Afternoon of the Rat-faced Zombies' where they stayed secure for the whole days shoot! 1. To achieve the best results, Take your time. Be patient, don't be in a hurry. If you are going to wear your new teeth with a foam appliance or other elaborate makeup, make sure you fit your teeth ahead of time. 2. If you've purchased a set with both uppers and lowers, fit the lowers first. It is difficult to fit lowers once the uppers are in place. You want to fit the lowers with the uppers so that they will maintain the proper relationship with each other. 3. If the appliance is the least bit uncomfortable to wear, go through the fitting process again until you have a fit that is absolutely comfortable for you. Wearing even a slightly uncomfortable appliance can leave you with sores on your gums that can take days to heal, and that is no fun! 4. It is important to make sure that some of the fitting plastic or denture adhesive is pushed through the two small holes on each side of the appliance. This will ensure that the fitting plastic or Fixodent denture adhesive will 'lock onto' the plastic shell. You can soften one or two pellets seperately and push these through the two small holes before fitting, Or place a small amount of Denture adhesive through the holes. You can let this plastic/Fixodent adhesive cool and it will grab the rest of the fitting plastic/adhesive when you go through the complete fitting process. 5. When placing the softened fitting plastic onto the back of the plastic shell teeth, make sure that the surface of the shell is dry! This will ensure that the fitting plastic adheres to the plastic shell as it cools. 6. Think Less is More when applying the fitting plastic. Using too much fitting plastic will keep you from getting a superior fit. We provide you with plenty of fitting plastic and not all of it is needed. It is easier to add more plastic where needed than it is to remove it once it has been used. We do however highly recommend using Fixodent to secure your teeth. 7. When placing the fitting plastic/Fixodent onto the back of the plastic teeth, place it right behind where your teeth are going to be. You don't need it to go where your gums will be; let the extra fitting plastic/Fixodent 'ooze' into the area where your gums are. 8. When removing the teeth after using Fixodent dental adhesive you will be able to remove any residue by brushing with regular toothpaste.
